You should made some network sniffing, to check if the issue is not
other stuff like :
- TCP ECN activated and not activated
- fixup protocol (à la PIX and not so good)
- Check the logs of the NIDS
- Is the NIDS configured to RST session ? is the RST send to the
both side ?
- ...
Could you show up some (tcpdump|postfix) logs with this issue ?
