Certainly. But that's not really an answer.
I was expecting something more like:
"Postfix doesn't do it that way because of [blah blah blah blah....]"
or:
"Postfix doesn't do it that way yet, but it might in the future"
or maybe even:
"No, you fool! It's not more efficient that way! Why is an idiot like
you running a mail server anyway?!"
