Ok, I tried it as PAM suddenly stopped working again (probably that damn
Confixx tool did some cron-job again and messed it all up).

So now I have that sasldb authentication running. It kind of works, but
Outlook still throws errors (just some numbers, no real error
descriptions) when sending mails. But mails are delivered.

I also have to manage two password lists now, one for outgoing mails
(sasldb) and one for getting mails with pop3 (local users). I don't like
that. Isn't there a better solution?

    Thanks for any help.

    Alexander

You don't want to run postfix as root on a public server!
You don't want your system account/password as mailaccounts!

For only a few users simply use the sasldb to authenticate. It is
checked per default by SASL and simple to use. Only two commands needed
: saslpasswd (to add/change users) sasldblistusers (to view users)
