I'd expect an outfit expecting to shift that many emails to have the kind of expertise to be answering questions on hardware requirements, rather than posing them.

With all due respect, John, the firm I work for manages email
transactions for several large firms with significant mail volumes and
its all PC-based and RedHat or Slackware. Open Source Platforms are not
a crime. In this day and age where you can by used Ultra Sparcs on EBay
and get RedHat boxes preconfig'd from Dell, platform says nothing about
the company.
