For all the time I've spent trying to figure this concept out I just can't
seem to get it clear enough to make a decision on which virtual I should use
    to achieve my goals.

I currently have a postfix server 1.1.12 setup on Mandrake 9 with
    amavisd-new,
SpamAssassin and F-Prot virus scan (works great I might add). I'm ready to
move on to adding additional domains and have read every piece of
documentation ever referenced on the postfix site, in the postfix
documentation and in this mailing list (since I joined it mid last year)
about virtual domains. In fact I've read a great deal of it many times.
I've googled till I'm bleary eyed dozens of times on the subject and read
about vm-pop3d, gnu-pop3d, courier-imap and even looked at any how-to that
talks about virtual domains even if it included something I don't intend to
use (like MySQL). I just can't seem to be able to connect enough dots or
something to figure out what I should be doing.

I know the virtual subject on this list is tiresome to you pros and I'm
    sorry
I'm such an idiot I can't get past this.

What I want to be able to do follows:

I don't want shell accounts for mail users with the exception of my account
and any account required to service the mail system or an associated service
(like amavisd or the virus scanner)

I want every domain's users to be independent as to what they can have in
their email addresses - if I have an email user called joe at domain1 and an
email user joe at domain2 I want to be able to use joe in both places

I want every different domain to be able to use any aliases they choose for
    their domain

I want to add SASL/TLS to the mix if I can and I'm not sure how this affects
any of my decision - just mentioning it in case it does.

As best as I can tell I need to be looking at virtual(5) and postfix style
virtual domains but I just don't see how that one works for me either.

Please, please PLEASE! point me in the right direction.

    Thanks.
