I have (I think) installed postfix as per the basic intructions for
replacing sendmail completely (e.g. the old sendmail, newaliases and
mailq have .OFF appended and then I did 'make install' etc.)
However my slackware 9.0 beta boot hangs when it tries to run
"rc.sendmail start". The startup sequence just goes:-
Starting sendmail MTA daemon: /usr/sbin/sendmail -L sm-mta -bd -q25m
Starting sendmail MSP queue runner: /usr/sbin/sendmail -L sm-msp-queue -Ac -q25m
postfix/postfix-script: starting the Postfix mail system
... and hangs in the postfix-script.
In the maillog file I get:-
Mar 2 00:07:12 server postfix/postfix-script: starting the Postfix mail system
Mar 2 00:07:12 server postfix/master[934]: daemon started -- version 2.0.4
Can I change the rc.sendmail script so that it just does "postscript
start", is that all that's needed?
