Well, yes, but that's what's advised to prevent my system forcing a
connect to the internet when an internal mail gets sent isn't it?

From the FAQ:-

    If your intranet does not use DNS internally, you have to disable DNS
    lookups as well:

        /etc/postfix/main.cf:
                disable_dns_lookups = yes

So I have "disable_dns_lookups = yes"

As I said originally my situation (a small SoHo network connected to
the Internet via an ISDN router) isn't quite addressed in the FAQ and
basic configurations and thus I seem to be looking at a *slightly*
non-standard set-up.
