The one component you don't mention is a POP/IMAP server. My personal
recommendation (if you want IMAP) is Courier-IMAP. (There are two
advantages: a - it uses the same storage format as CLI MUAs, allowing
someone with a local account on the server to switch between their GUI
MUA and a CLI MUA; b - it provides both POP3 and IMAP capability.) I
have heard others recommend Cyrus for IMAP, and qpopper and cucipop for
POP3, but I have no personal experience with them.
