Thanks, that made it quite abit more clear.
I have one more problem though. I know that this is not 100% postfix
related, but I hope you guys can help anyway.
I want to use maildrop to deliver the messages but am having some
difficulties. I have read MAILDROP_README and have tried setting it up
as specified in there as well as with:
mailbox_command = /usr/bin/maildrop -d "$USER" -f "$SENDER" "$EXTENSION"
but they both seem to drop the mails in a black hole somewhere.
What is the difference between the $USER and $recipient variables?
If I try to start maildrop -d "user
host.mydomain.tld" it tells me that
the user is invalid and when I use "user
mydomain.tld" it just stops and
waits (which I assume is correct behavior). Neither postfix nor maildrop
reports any errors:
May 23 12:05:32 host postfix/local[26335]: B760E7325C: to=<abo
mydomain.tld>,
orig_to=<abo
host.mydomain.tld>, relay=local, delay=0, status=sent
("|/usr/bin/maildrop -d "$USER" -f "$SENDER" "$EXTENSION"")
I have setup maildropldap.cf as such:
hostname ldap.mydomain.tld
basedn ou=accounts,dc=mydomain,dc=tld
search_method mail
default_uidnumber 8
default_gidnumber 100
mail_attr mailAddress
uid_attr uid
maildir_attr mailMessageStore
homedirectory_attr homeDirectory
