Looking for something to do ??? ;-)
I spoke with the owners of the network and their IT people. They now
understand the nature of the problem and say they will fix it. I tested as
of 10 minutes ago and it is not yet fixed. If I had ever used sendmail, I
could have told them how to stop people outside their network from pretending
to be those on their network, but they will have to figure that out for
themselves. I also checked a bunch of RBLs for their IPs and domains. They
are not listed, so it would appear that they haven't been widely exploited.
I'm being close-mouthed about this right now because we have a number of
business clients who could be harmed If I don't eliminate their dependence on
the network in question before the poop hits the fan.
