i am trying to set up my server to run SMTP AUTH, but for some reason its
not working proper, i am able to connect using outlook but it just keeps
telling me i have the wrong password and user

here is some info on my system

# sasl

smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes
#smtpd_delay_reject=yes
#smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated reject
#smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated, reject
smtpd_sasl_local_domain = $mydomain, otherdomains.com
smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous

cat /var/log/maillog

Jun 2 15:15:21 simpleoffice-server postfix/smtpd[14636]: connect from
unknown[192.168.0.100]
Jun 2 15:15:21 simpleoffice-server postfix/smtpd[14636]: warning:
unknown[192.168.0.100]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed
Jun 2 15:15:26 simpleoffice-server postfix/smtpd[14636]: lost connection
after AUTH from unknown[192.168.0.100]
Jun 2 15:15:26 simpleoffice-server postfix/smtpd[14636]: disconnect from
unknown[192.168.0.100]

the Username and password being used match a unix user

/usr/lib/sasl/Sendmail.conf
pwcheck_method: shadow

also tried with sasldb

this is all i get from a telnet session

helo mark.simpleoffice-server.simpleoffice.ca
250 simpleoffice-server.simpleoffice.ca

running on redhat 9.0 with newest updats on sasl and postfix

anyhelp is apreciated
