postmap question reguarding the access file

From: Vernon A. Fort (vfortprovident-solutions.com)

I have the following in the access file

        /Mail\.ParaResearch\.com/ OK

to verify, I do the following

        postmap -q "Mail.ParaResearch.com" /etc/postfix/access

It returns non-zero exit status - meaning not found.

So I place a one-liner

        /testline/ REJECT

        postmap /etc/postfix/access

        postmap -q "testline" /etc/postfix/access

It still returns non-zero exit status. I have tried it with and without the
preceeding / and ending / but to no avail, I cannot get postmap to match the
string. Anyone care to help a blind guy out?
