hmm i'm, not that shure, that entourage is the cause:

this is an ISP environment, so the clients are not under my control, but they differ from OS Version and entourage Version.

the only hint on the net was some mac mailling list, which said:

"this problem is a misconfigured postfix, so blame your admin" but no hint what iun his opinion should be a well-configured postfix.

so not really a help at all ...
