Re: VDA Patch x Maildrop for softquotas

Hi,

Thank you for the answer. But I still have some doubts. To main of
them it is if it is possible to implement the softquotas for user (using
the file maildirsize) without the need of the use of some patch (for
your message I interpreted that is necessary VDA Patch use so that the
sender receives the overquota message).
In relation to the report of the quota for the owner of the post
office box, if the maildrop just to send the message for the owner when
the occupation rate overcomes 90%, for me it will be enough, because
through the webmail service I get to monitor the quota, using
Courier-IMAP to access the information on the use of the quota.
Actually, I have the email server partially duplicated, to test the
migration and the use of these functions.
With relationship to the configuration files, in case it is possible
to send the configuration files (it can be in private), I thank.

    Thank you

The VDA patch works fine for the SMTP side of things, however, mailbox owners never get the overquota message as postfix bounces it back to the sender with a nice "User is over quota" message. On the IMAP side, I use maildrop to deliver the messages to the Maildir/, ie. maildrop -w 90 -d ${recipient}, which says "warn the recipient when he/she has reached %90 of their soft quota". I find that the combination of the two works rather well. Let me know if you'd like to take a look at my config files to help you get started.
