Postfix SMTPD crashes often?

Hi there,
My server is running Postfix Version 2.0 Patchlevel 19.
When I start postfix, all goes well. Postfix smtpd can run for days at a
time with no problem. Everything is working fine, including my aliases
defined in /etc/postfix/virtual.
However, when I edit /etc/postfix/virtual, and do a "postmap
/etc/postfix/virtual", and restart postfix, it crashes within i'd say
15-30 minutes or so. it then periodically crashes every 30 minutes - 2
hours, until i reboot the entire server. Once the server has been
rebooted, postfix will run without error, with the new aliases.
Of course I checked out /var/log/maillog, however, this is all i found:
Mar 29 23:10:35 Brunner postfix/local[8057]: 35F7C11F4B6:
to=<alex
silenceisdefeat.org>, relay=local, delay=0, status=sent
("|/usr/local/bin/procmail -f- -a "$USER"$
Mar 11 20:01:43 Brunner postfix/master[21239]: fatal: event_loop:
select: Invalid argument
Mar 29 23:27:52 Brunner postfix/postfix-script: starting the Postfix
mail system
As you can see, the last time the server is definitely up is at 23:10 on
March 29th, however this is followed by an incorrectly time/date stamped
entry, which shows a "fatal: event_loop: select: Invalid argument". I
couldn't find anything about this error, but I think it is peculiar that
the date of this entry is 18 days in the past.
Here is what my /etc/postfix/virtual file reads:
bash-2.05b# cat /etc/postfix/virtual

it in this file.
Does anyone have ANY idea what could be wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Alex
