Sender domains

I'm not sure how to go about this, wether there is some configuration I'm
missing, or if this is something virtual domains can't even handle in the
first place (which I'm starting to believe is the case). Anyways, here's
the scenario:

One mail server, main domain to serve for is domain1.com. We need to
restrict certain users to domain2.com.

I've been looking at virtual domains, but I'm getting the feeling that
this is something beyond their scope (the users can always still send
mail from domain1). Should I be looking at running a second, separate
instance of Postfix for domain2? How then does one assosciate particular
instances of Postfix to particular users (beyond the location of spool and
mailbox locations)? I've scanned through some FAQs and HOWTOs and haven't
seen anything like this, does anyone else here know of any resources to
look at, or any better/easier way to accomplish what I'm looking for?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but my searching through the archives
hasn't come up with any results. I apologize for any redundancy...
