f-prot setup for postfix?

Can someone point me in the direction as to what I need
to get postfix to scan incoming email against a command line scanner (f-prot)?
(it is not a daemonized scanner...only command line)
I would expect I need amavis or amavisd or amavis-new
but I dont honestly know.
I dont need a step-by-step directions, but some guidance would be nice.
