I am running postfix snap919 and cyrus sasl 2.1.19 via /etc/sasldb2 (auxprop)
and I noticed the following:
SASL authentication failure: no user in db - yet it works!
Under debug I indeed see that it works:
smtpd_sasl_authenticate: sasl_method CRAM-MD5
smtpd_sasl_authenticate: uncoded challenge
smtpd_sasl_authenticate: decoded response: jbronson
warning: SASL authentication failure: no user in db
235 Authentication successful
yet it complains! - I tried outing and redoing sasldb2.
Anyone come across this before, where it works but yet complains??
I compiled sasl using ndbm under solaris. I do not use BDB.
Postfix uses dbm and cdb for my other files...
it does not matter whether I run chrooted or not. I tested that just to be
sure...
thanks for any comments...
