hello all... long time lurker, first time poster.
i'm bringing up a new mail site using postfix. i've used postfix in the
past, but not in this specific scope. previously i never needed to worry
about any sort of rewriting/masquerading. here's the situation...
there are currently two mail hosts. let's say mx1.internaldomain and
mx2.internaldomain. since 'internaldomain' doesn't exist on the Internet,
what i want is for internal/LAN clients to have their addresses changed
(when sending mail) from user
host.internaldomain to user
externaldomain. i
thought this would be a rewrite/masqerade option, but i haven't been able to
get it working and may be looking in the wrong place all together.
we are going to configure an external domain to allow these mx's to receive
inbound mail. the domain will be pmc.company.com. so i need to rewrite
*
inside.company.com to *
pmc.company.com so Internet hosts have a chance of
replying to the email and the internal domain remains hidden. what is the
best way to handle this?
thanks,
-m
