FWIW djbdns is a pretty reliable dns server. It has a simple format
(once you get the hang of it), is very secure and works well. I
personally tend to hate "most" DJB software (a MTA comes to mind), but
once you understand djbdns, setting it up takes less than 10 minutes.
Even though I'm still against his idea of putting programs in /.

I gave up on bind due to complexities of securing it, ever changing
format for each revision and memory footprint.
