multiple servers on same domain - problem

Hi all,

I'm trying to setup an email server in on our network. Basically, the
postfix server is a success - it works, but theres a problem!

We also have another email server on the same domain and both of these
servers have a problem sending mail to and from each other. For
example, the two email servers are as follows:

Server 1: subdomain.domain.tld

Server 2: subdomain.subdomain.domain.tld

(I think thats correct)

I can send email to both email servers from anywhere outside of our
network, but if try to send an email from Server 2 to Server 1 it
tries to deliver it locally and then fails. Likewise, If I try to
send an email from Server 1 to Server 2 it again tries to deliver it
locally and then fails.

For example, the following will fail:

email from: usersubdomain.subdomain.domain.tld -> sent to
-> usersubdomain.domain.tld

I've been told that its not to do with DNS, but that its to do with
the email servers trying to deliver locally.

I would be grateful if anyone has a solution or can come up with some
suggestions as to how to resolve this in Postfix.

thanks,

Gerald
