Hey guys, I have a question....
On our dev server, I see the above error (well, the errors below) every
couple hours. I checked the group archives, but this situation seems to be
different because there are no errors associated with it. The server itself
seems to be fine and never has problems delivering mail. The long entries
are always exactly like this:
Mar 1 16:50:28 m12 postfix/smtpd[16999]: fatal: watchdog timeout
Mar 1 16:50:29 m12 postfix/master[21066]: warning: process
/usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd pid 16999 exit status 1
Mar 1 16:50:29 m12 postfix/master[21066]: warning:
/usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling
As I said, the server is working just fine. It's a development server
(we're testing Postfix as the MTA for the next revision of our service) and
gets very little mail. The errors seem benign, but I wanted to know what
was causing these messages and whether or not they should be something I
should worry about.
Michael
