Yeah, I could do that too. I was really trying to limit myself to not using
anything prebuilt. It is not a life or death situation, I can get a server up
and running with the rpms. Sorry, this is more of a little project of mine,
and I don't mean to be wasting a lot of your guys' time. I was just hoping
somebody knew how to intergrate/bypass /usr/sbin/alternatives off hand, as I
have hit a brick wall everywhere else. Kinda funny, I was trying to keep
myself away from prebuilt packages thinking they were the easy way out, but
it turns out they are causing all the problems :)
