I think there's an important lesson for us who are small-time admins
here. We tend to blur the distinction between a workstation and a
server, and thus we implement things in our server software which
properly should have been done as end-user solutions.
I use the first-person pronoun because I used to do this myself, but
now I'm trying to remove such things from my configurations.
