fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp

Hi,

I get "fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp" in a non-chroot environment.

However, the platform is a very much stripped-down environment (OpenBSD
3.5), so it could be that something essential is missing
(/etc/services; /etc/protocols are present - something else that would be
obvious?)

Some locations are a bit non-standard, but postfix starts up (without
warnings) without me having tinkered with postfix-script or even some source
code.

as I said, without chroot:
# service type private unpriv chroot wakeup maxproc command + args
# (yes) (yes) (yes) (never) (100)
smtp inet n - n - - smtpd
smtp unix - - n - - smtp

The error occurs after I have successfully submitted a message with sendmail
-bs, when postfix tries to deliver it:

postfix/pickup[17928]: 6D4DFA0: uid=0 from=<sender>
postfix/cleanup[7119]: 6D4DFA0: message-id=<msgid>
postfix/qmgr[28579]: 6D4DFA0: from=<sender>, size=445, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
postfix/smtp[8479]: fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp

postfix/qmgr[13241]: warning: private/smtp socket: malformed response
postfix/qmgr[13241]: warning: transport smtp failure -- see a previous warning/fatal/panic logfile record for the problem description

Anything obvious (or not that obvious)?

thanks & hand
