Hey PS,

This sounds like a /var/lib/amavis (or /var/amavis) has incorrect permissions.
(ie. I have 'vscan' as the user, and 'amavis' as the group, that owns that
directory)
(`grep HOME /etc/amavis.conf` or where ever the configuration points to for
"HOME" of amavis).

Within the HOME of amavis, there should be a 'tmp','virus','spam' and 'badh'
directory if you choose to quarantine these items.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I would double/triple check what user and group
amavis runs as, then change the ownership of amavis' HOME to those user/group
and see how things turn out for you.
