In my copy it appears that the gpg signature might have been encoded
(not sure if that's the right term) a second time, probably by the
S-MIME. I see "=3D" (equals three upper-case d) in place of "=" (plain
equals sign) in the signature part and "=20" (equals two zero) on the
end of some lines in the text part.
Perhaps if you decode the S-MIME part first you will be able to verify
the gpg signature. The S-MIME verified for me, but I don't know how to
extract the unencoded payload (which is the GPG-signed message and
signature.)
