Use /usr/bin/sendmail (read the man page!) and specify the nevelope sender
on the commandline. This way you don't need any rewriting.

Are you sure about this? There are many legitimate reasons why From: header
and envelope sender can differ - for example, look at mail on this mailing
list.

(But having sensible envelope senders is still reasonable.)
