Hi all,
I have a postfix installation that is acting as a mail gateway.
This works as desired and has for the last few months.
We have recently set up a site-to-site VPN with a partner and
wish the email to use the VPN rather than the straight Internet.
Our partner has set up their mail system to use the VPN, and we
are receiving email fine through that, (I have verified that in the
logs and in the headers of the emails themselves).
I then added the line into the /etc/postfix/transport file
*******.co.uk smtp:[***.***.***.***]
Ran postmap transport, and restarted postfix.
Looking at the log, postfix connects over the VPN to the other mail
server, but I am getting "timed out while sending message body" and
"timed out while sending end of data" errors, and no emails are getting
through.
The VPN runs over a Cisco PIX 506E this is only a month or two old and
runs the 6.3(4) version of the PIX software. SMTP fixup is disabled.
I can connect with telnet from the mail server to the other side and
send email that way.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can go to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance
Kind Regards
Anthony Metcalf
