Rekindle a thread with similar topic in three years' time and see where
we are then.

A few years back qmail was a huge topic with DJB's rants against Postfix
(some justified in their statement, but totally exaggerated in the
tone), today it's spam and various more or less (or un-) suitable ideas
to fight it, and it'll be interesting to see what the topic will drift
to when Postfix turns 10. :-)

Initially, I hadn't expected Postfix would last that long, but once it
lured me into trying it out, I haven't switched back to something else.

OTOH, I must say it felt it was a real pity when I figured that the
massively revised sendmail 8.12.0 that set out with a concept more
careful still had severe bugs, same with 8.12.1, and a similar story
happened to the early 8.13 versions.

I hope you guys find the time to carefully write good code for sendmail
X and audit it well so that your new project gets a good start. Having a
choice never hurts - and I somehow have the feeling that Sam
Varshavchik's "Courier" MTA never really took off as a whole (in
contrast to its subprojects Courier-IMAP and Maildrop).
