Turn of fully qualified domain name lookup

Hi,
I read somewhere on this forum that in order to speed up mail
acceptance by postfix lookup of fully quailfied domain name for
senders should be disabled.
How do I do that? I'm new to Linux world
My postfix installation is on a local network and accepts emails only
from computers within it, so there is really no reason to be looking
up the domain name every time email gets sent.
