How does postfix handle a 421 error?

I was wondering if someone could tell me where to find information on
postfix error handling received from a remote system with multiple mx
records?
For example, if example.com has has 6 mx records, two names with three
IPs each, like follows; (keep in mind the IPs are made up)
- mx1.example.com with IP addresses of 192.168.200.24, 192.168.100.10,
10.1.1.100
- mx2.example.com with IP addresses of 192.168.10.200, 10.20.1.200,
172.0.30.20
Postfix will get get the list of mx address for example.com and try to
connect to one of the IPs to send the mail. If the remote server
responds with a "421 Service not available, closing transmission
channel." Will postfix walk the mx list and try the other IP address?
Or, will postfix just toss the message back in the queue and wait for
the next retry period?
Is there a way to make postfix try all of the mx entries before tossing
the message back in the queue?
Thanks for any info?
