Yes, every time I make a change.

OK - done that.

Now in the logs I can see postfix refreshing, then 'reload
configuration /etc/postfix'. Then there's one from
rootpackbell.lydgate.net '(queue active)'.

Then it's back to
'connect to transport smtp[anne-linux.lydgate.net]: No such file or
directory'
and
'connect to transport smtp[smtp.mailbox.co.uk]: No such file or
directory'
