postfix can run fine on solaris, you have to build it from scratch.
The only thing I don't like about solaris is the PITA factor that you
have to build almost everything from scratch (for making useful email
systems).
Postfix is the MTA, now you also have to choose an imap/pop3 solution.
Cyrus or Courier is nice - but again, you have to build from scratch.
virtual domains = mysql...build from scratch.
you get the picture.
AFter it's all built, it runs very well.
