I think that I have found it, and it was in fetchmailconf. I had
"username
myisp.net" is "username" here, when I should have had
"username
myisp.net" is "doug" here.
Mail could not be delivered to "username" (which was my ISP's login before
the
) because no user of that name exists on my computer.
