I for one find your setup description rather confusing. It seems that
mx1 is the MTa that the outside world sees, smtp1 is the one used for
submission of outgoing mail by your local group and imap is where the
local group should be looking for their incoming mail.

You have 2 choices - use transport maps to direct incoming traffic to
imap1, or use aliases/recipient canonical maps to change the recipient
address to a hidden domain called imap1.<whaterver your domain is>.
