Hi guys,
I've got a cron job scheduled to run on a particular server, and the
results of the job get emailed to me by cron, with the results.
I've had to change the relay host to that of the ISP recently, and since
then the emails from cron have been getting bounced back to me by the
SMTP server with the following error.
"From: MAILER-DAEMON
xxxxxx.co.za (Mail Delivery System)
To: root
xxxxxx.co.za
This is the Postfix program at host xxxxxx.co.za.
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.
For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>
If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.
The Postfix program
<xxxx
domain.co.za> (expanded from <root>): host
smtp.saix.net[196.25.240.94]
said: 550 Error: 550 Misconfig CRON Ref:78 (in reply to end of DATA
command) "
I've searched through the Postfix archives to try and find this error,
and I've found nothing, except one post that ended up no where.
I'm guessing that saix.net are attempting to block email sent from cron
jobs, because of people who have miss configured their crontabs there by
sending masses of failed cron jobs.
Does anyone have any idea on how to get around this, or why exactly this
is being blocked.
I've tried changing the sender address to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Regards.
