Onderwerp: Backup MX tactics?

I hope this isn't considered OT (or a repost as I sent it 4 hours back
and it hasn't shown up yet?).

I've seen various tactics discussed regarding the best way to implement
a backup MX without "opening the floodgates" to spam.

I wondered what the current thinking was on the best approach to take?

Ideally we'd have an off-site server somewhere running Postfix with our
exact configuration and address maps on it, but configured as a backup.
That might be an option, but an expensive one as I presume I'd be
looking at a U in a co-lo (how "real" are these cheap virtual server
hosting packages that you see offered?).

TIA,
Paul
