Hello,

I have a NAS appliance (LinksysNSLU2) which uses smtpclient to send a
status report. The NAS has address 192.168.1.4 and my mailserver/DNS
has address 192.168.1.2. When the NAS (or me by hand) send a mail,
the Postfix logs show a 501 illegal syntax in command MAIL from. I
already searched the internet and tried to disable several Postfix
settings

The important postfix config rules are: (postconf -d)

strict_rfc821_envelopes = no
smtpd_helo_restrictions =
smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks,
reject_unauth_destination
smtpd_sender_restrictions =

I use the following command to send the email:

echo test | smtpclient -s test -f admin192.168.1.4 namehannink.org

But still I see:
