usage of postmap command to make lookup tables

Hi,

   can anyone post example of usage of postmap cmd to
make hash or cidr lookup table from source file. my
source file contains "mynetworks"

like

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/xx OK

I have tried

$postmap hash:/tmp/test.map < /etc/postfix/mynetworks

it says there no "/tmp/test.map"

then i did touch /tmp/test.map and tried again

then if complains "hash" unknown type, same for cidr
I have checked $postconf -m, cidr is listed there
