I think you will not ever be able to test that AUTH works until you
configure a client to authenticate. You were twice told that the posted
logs showed no evidence of any attempt to authenticate. You're
persisting in the confusion of SASL AUTH with TLS encryption. Your SSL
certificate is not being used for client authentication.
