Does netstat(8) show postgrey (perl) listening on 10023?

Looks like it. Misguided firewall settings, perhaps?

spam.wits.ac.za. 86400 IN MX 0 chuck.wits.ac.za.
chuck.wits.ac.za. 86400 IN A 146.141.77.10
And yet here on chuck we seem to think spam.wits.ac.za. mail should
relay to 146.141.15.6. Sure enough, the Sendmail MTA there accepted
your mail.

So it came from, and was relayed back to, artemis?

Artemis sendmail logs might. Chuck's "postconf -n" might help.

Grrr, that was silly.
