Is there a way to have the milter run on RCPT TO, or does it always
wait until end-of-DATA? If the latter, a Postfix policy daemon is far
more efficient. A greylisting milter would receive the message DATA at
least twice, possibly more.
Greylisting is generally not Net-friendly, but it's not so bad (IMO of
course) when rejection occues at RCPT TO.
Disclaimer: I use greylisting (sqlgrey) myself, but I would not
recommend it for larger sites. And of course, please don't take this as
invitation to discuss the merits of greylisting, which is explicitly
off-topic here. I am merely referring to the merits of greylisting via
milter as opposed to the Postfix policy protocol.
