Deferred queue backup mx and pop3

Hi List

- My first posfix posting, please excuse the newbie question. I have
searched the list but I can't find anything specific to this.

I work for an ISP and we have a client for whom our postfix server acts
as the backup mx for their local Exchange server. In normal
circumstances email is sent to their server and all is well. However,
over the past few weeks their server is being hammered by spoof traffic,
which although is not getting past their firewall its taking up enough
bandwidth so most of their email ends up in our deferred queue. As
Postfix sees the server so intermittently, they only get a few email at
a time - even if we use postsuper to requeue the deferred. Postfix is
working absolutely correctly here, as SMTP is not intended for
"intermittent" connections.

According to qshape they have arounnd 360 emails to them.

I had the idea that we could setup a "catchall" pop3 account on our
server, which would be much easier to for them to collect from in the
current environment. I have done this and all is working well. They use
a pop3 connector to collect the email from the fallback server and
distribute it locally at their end.

So, can I somehow move the deferred queue to their
/vmail/home/domain/account/new folder.

TIA

Jon Harris
