Hello,
I am planning on using VERP on a web application which sends quite a
few emails a day.
In the "Postfix VERP Howto" [1], a configuration is described in order
to enable "bounce management" for majordomo. This configuration
requires to setup an alias for the static part of the "bounce"
address, and to create a dedicated .forward file stored in the home
directory of the user defined as the alias.
I am not using majordomo or any other mailing list software, and I
wonder if there is a simpler way of saying to Postfix: "Please send
any email to bounce+<anything>
mydomain.com to this program (or to
this maildir)."
Specifically, I would like to avoid needing a specific user and having
to create a .forward file as indicated in the "Majordomo + VERP"
paragraph of the Howto. If possible, I would like a solution 100%
based on system files (/etc/postfix) rather than on a .forward file in
the home directory of a user.
Is it possible to avoid using the .forward file in the home directory
to do this redirect? I cannot find anything on the web (or in the list
archive) regarding this issue.
Bonus question: Do you know any script which job is to parse bounced
emails? I guess I am not the first one who wants to forward the
bounced emails to a script in order to extract the faulty email
address (Sympa's script is way too complex for my needs).
Thank you,
Amaury
