appending signature/footers

Does anyone here know of any perl scripts that can be used to create footers on
email? I'm developing something that needs to have a signature appended to the
file, but for MIME (especially attachments) it is problematic.
Rather than reinvent the wheel I was hoping someone here might have seen
something already that they could suggest...
