OK it seems what is happening is that the signature works fine when
sending plain text.
When sending HTML what appears to happen is that my Postfix installation
is doing something depending how I send the test message.
What I have been doing is sending the message to root
myrelay which is
an alias to my "proper" smtp address. The message goes out, gets
forwarded, comes back to me and looks odd.
If however I send the test message to an external address such as
Hotmail, or a couple of people on this list who kindly offered to try
it, it looks fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
cheers,
Paul

It doesn't seem to make any difference. It's hard to know how this will
turn out with the formatting, but if my original message has a test
disclaimer on it (as should this one).
This is the disclaimer as I see when sending an HTML formatted message:

The client is Outlook 2003, not sure if that plays a part or not it's
something I need to test with, say, Thunderbird.
cheers,
Paul
