Hello.
This is a bit of a complex problem and I'm not entirely sure
which 'layer' the solution needs to be applied to, so I'm
trying each in turn and the first layer is obviously
Postfix. So here I am.
I have a couple of email accounts (this one at Google, a
Yahoo account and an account on a third party web hosting
provider server). In order to avoid having to check mail in
three places, I use mutt and getmail. In order to avoid
having to switch to a browser to send mail from any address,
I (used to) relay mail through my hosting provider, with a
bit of From: address munging in mutt.
The problem: My hosting provider recently made a few
changes to combat spam that broke my whole setup. Of
course, now their server will only accept mail from the
domains they host.
Is there some way (perhaps it's not Postfix's job to fix) to
conditionally send to certain relay hosts?
In my situation, any mail From: me
mydomain.com, should be
relayed through mail.mydomain.com but any mail From:
me
googlemail.com should be relayed through smtp.google.com
or whatever the SMTP server is for googlemail (I've not
checked yet).
I've not seen this in any docs, is there a preferred method
for this?
thanks,
MC
