Postfix builds with epoll support on kernel 2.6 and later. epoll
was introduced somewhere in the middle of the kernel 2.5 series.

Are you running a standard distribution, or did you upgrade the
kernel without upgrading user-land?

Postfix tries to support standard distributions, not the unique
personal blends of invidual users.
