Hi all,

I am trying to enable SMTP Auth on Postfix using SASL but have no luck so far.

Below is the error message that I got from maillog:

Sep 17 12:21:11 mailserver postfix/smtpd[20836]: warning: smtpd_sasl_auth_enable is true, but SASL support is not compiled in
Sep 17 12:21:11 mailserver postfix/smtpd[20836]: connect from unknown[123.456.1.20]
Sep 17 12:21:17 mailserver postfix/smtpd[20836]: disconnect from unknown[123.456.1.20]

Postfinger output:

[rootmailserver ~]# postfinger --nowarn

And these are cyrus-sasl that I have installed on my machine.

cyrus-sasl-md5-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-sql-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-plain-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-ntlm-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-gssapi-2.1.19-5.EL4
cyrus-sasl-devel-2.1.19-5.EL4

I have already created symlink /usr/lib/sasl2 -> /usr/local/lib/sasl2 and my /usr/lib/sasl2/smtpd.conf :
log_level: 3
pwcheck_method: saslauthd
mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN

I am now considering to re-install postfix from the source file instead of from RPM but I am not sure if it is because of postfix or sasl?

Thanks for the help guys.
Albert
